So... been married for 2 1/2 weeks now and nothing feels different!  LOL  Maybe it's because it's me and HIM. The guy I fell in love with in high school and never stopped loving.  This amazing man who had my heart 16 years ago (and I had his.... we just were too young and immature to recognize it).  You know, everyone keeps saying, "don't get used to this" and "don't get used to that" and that "everything is going to change now that you're married".  Want to know what I say to those pessimist's?

GRAB A GLASS OF HATERADE, SIT BACK AND WATCH!!!!!  :-P

See... here's the thing about the hubs and I:  We TALK to each other.  Yeah!  Try it!  It's wonderful!; We GENUINELY like each other; We have made a promise, not only to each other, but to ourselves, that we will not be THAT couple.  The couple that can't stand each other but tolerates each other for the sake of just being married or the sake of the kids.  That's so NOT a life.

I think that the people who crap on our happiness need to look at themselves and their relationships.  They need to stop advising us of the "changes" that are about to happen simply because they are unhappy.  Take a look at why YOU are unhappy and fix it.  But don't rain on MY parade!

I have a man I adore who adores me.  I have a man who respects me and my choices and I respect him and support him.  I have a man who makes me laugh and who I make laugh on a daily basis.  I have a man who actually communicates with me and encourages open communication.  I have a man who isn't afraid of affection no matter who's around.

We have it all as long as we're together.......... with the exception of a small fortune!  LMAO!!!!!!

Whew!  Where have I been?!?!  I MISS coming here and writing!  Things have been so busy, which is normal during the holidays, right?!  Ok.  At least you understand!  :-)

How has everyone been?  I hope you're not pulling your hair out, going crazy trying to find the EXACT gift that your children are just dying to have!  LOL

So, things have changed around her a bit.  I did, in fact, stop working.  It was taking way too much from my family.

My fiance are now doing our homework (and there's LOTS of it!) to start our animal rescue/shelter!!!!  I'm SO very excited to be doing this!!!!  I'm also starting a new blog just for our shelter.  I do hope that you all will follow AND pass the link on to everyone you know!  I say this because we're going to need all the help we can get.  Donations of dog/cat food, cat litter, old blankets and towels, etc will be happily accepted!

I'll be writing more about it at the shelter's blog, but sadly, in our area of the country there is an enormous need for good, quality care for homeless animals.  There is one (very small) shelter in our area and they won't take any animals outside of city limits.  My fiance and I will be accepting animals regardless of where the family lives who may need to give up their family pet.  It makes a person feel pretty helpless when they have no where to bring their dog or cat and then what are they supposed to do?!?  :-(

Not to mention, Missouri is the puppy mill capital of the U.S.  One of our own dogs here in our home was found by my son Geoffrey last spring.  Little Rebel had been dumped at about 6 weeks old in our neighborhood.  :-(  And since we KNEW there was no telling what would happen to him if the shelter took him (oh, wait... they wouldn't have because we live outside city limits!), we kept him.

So, the link to that blog is Daviwood Animal Rescue.  I do hope that you'll all follow and pass the link along to anyone that you know who would be interested in helping in any way!

Stuffed

Ok.  So I'm not REALLY stuffed.  But Thanksgiving was SUCH a great day!  Well, isn't every Thanksgiving?  I cooked so much food!  But thank goodness for that.  I had invited a friend and her family over.  Initially, she and her husband were going to go out to eat for their Thanksgiving meal with their two children.  But unfortunately, on their way to the restaurant, they encountered a nasty car crash on the highway and had to turn around.  So I'm happy that we were able to have them come here so they wouldn't miss out on the holiday!  :-)

Then, we brought big plates of food to the two drill sergeants who made it possible for MY drill sergeant to be home for Thanksgiving.  One of the guys in my fiances platoon switched CQ days with my fiance.  CQ means Charge of Quarters and basically there's a CQ at the barracks every single day and night from 8:00 a.m. one morning till 8:00 a.m. the next morning.  Well, my fiance was scheduled for CQ on Thursday, which would have meant he would have been gone all day and all night on Thursday.  So one of the guys in his platoon switched with him so my fiance could be home with us.  And the other drill sergeant in his platoon was willing to be the late guy that day.

So we brought those two guys tons of food to thank them!!  I told them how much I appreciated their willingness to send my fiance home so he could be with us.  Just because these guys don't have any family here does not mean they should go without a great holiday meal!  :-)

Where are Max and Ruby's parents?  How old are these two little bunnies, left to their own devices.  Max can't even talk in complete sentences and in today's episode, Ruby sent him to the grocery store all by himself!  :-O  Sooo... Does anyone know?  Can you tell I'm bored today?  I'm home with my youngest... AGAIN... She's got croup.  Sounds awful.  So she's watching Max and Ruby and I just don't get it.  I really, truly want to know where their parents are.
I was going to vlog about this but I was up all night with my daughter and I look like                     death!  LOL

Maybe you'll get lucky and see a vlog later after I've cleaned myself up a bit.  :-D

Here I Am!

So, it's been a few since I wrote.  What a week it's been!  I started my new job last Monday on the 9th.  I have to say... I LOVE IT!!!!  I feel very much at home in my new job and with my new co-workers.  The one and ONLY downside of this job is the hours I work.  9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Now, the 9 a.m. doesn't bother me so much.  But not getting home until about 6:40 p.m. (after leaving work, picking up my little one and then driving home) sucks!  I'm getting used to it, though.  I'm nearing the end of my second week and am feeling more and more confident each day that I'll be able to manage both my work life and my home life.

See, the problem is, when the fiance and his company are in red phase, his hours are 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  For those of you who don't know... Red phase is the first 3 weeks of boot camp.  Since the fiance is a drill sergeant, his hours are long and difficult.  So that leaves me to pick up the slack at home.  A job I don't mind doing and never will mind.  He's doing one of the most difficult jobs out there.  And when he IS home.... damn if that man keeps on working!  :-)  He and the kids are my heart and soul.  :-)  Sappy?  Maybe.  True? ABSO-FRICKEN-LUTELY!

So what's been going on other than that?  Let's see.  This past Sunday, my oldest had THE stomach bug.  It was about 5 a.m. when my 10-year-old son came running into my room saying, "Mom... Jason just puked on our bedroom floor".  My first though.... "Thank God for our handy-dandy Bissell carpet shampooer".  LOL  So I checked on Jason.  He had a handle on things.  That boy copes amazingly well, even when he's sick!  He's got some logic in him.... there are times when I wonder where it is.... LOL... And other times when it's very obvious.  :-)

So he spent Sunday in his bed, watching movies, drinking ginger ale and resting.  Monday was a "normal" day... about as normal as a day in MY life can get... hee hee hee.  Tuesday, my youngest was sick.  Why is it when we expect our children to share with each other, they don't want to.... except when it comes to germs?  Hmm.  Yesterday, the oldest was sick AGAIN!  No puking.... but his stomach was a mess, nonetheless.  So he stayed home.  Luckily I didn't have to miss work because he is old enough to stay by himself.

And today.  What's been going on today?  ME!  I woke up with the pukies!  That's right folks!  My children have decided to share the stomach bug with me.  Aren't they sweet?!  I have to remember to thank them one day for all the wonderful illnesses that have been passed to me.  ;-)

I miss reading all of the blogs that I follow.... and I follow MANY!  I think that weekends are going to have to be my catch up for commenting!  I read when I can in the evenings, as much as I can.  Hell, I wouldn't be following if I wasn't interested!  :-)  So be patient with me.  I will catch up with my commenting this weekend! :-D
